Maggie Oatsvall

Gwen called last night to say that Maggie's surgery went well....that there was a significant infection found, they put a tube in for drainage, and that they were keeping them for about 3 days. At that point, Maggie was still asleep from the anesthesia. I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear anything. Please pass the word to keep praying for her and her family. Bless you!

Hi friends,

MANY of y'all know and follow the Oatsvall's blog, and know of the recent surgery little Maggie just had on her head to insert tissue expanders in preparation for future surgical repairs to her head/scalp from burns she suffered as an infant in China.  Well, Gwen just texted me a few minutes ago to tell me they're headed to Vanderbilt because infection has set up in her tissue expander internally and will have surgery to take it out.  She will have to heal completely before they begin again.

This news kills me, as this child has already been through so much.  She had done so well in the couple weeks after her surgery and it seemed as though things were progressing as expected.  All I know is that God is in control and that His ways are ALWAYS higher than ours'.  He is good, no matter what.  But, please pray for Maggie, Emily, Jeremiah, Elijah, Scott and Gwen.  They seriously need all our intercession. I'll update you as soon as I hear anything.

PURPLE FROSTING for breakfast! Whatever, she's my 4th, okay? Then, off to church...

We've laid around all afternoon...some took naps, some played baseball...it was wonderful...

Spring Break, Part Uno

Well, it's been a while! Boy, life has been FULL this past month! Every single day I've told myself that I'd sit down at this computer to update, and well, you see it never happened. Spring Break, and getting ready for it, pretty much filled up the month. Anyway, we had the best time ever this year in Cabo San Lucas. This makes "year 6" for us there. Because it's Tyler's senior year, we took 4 of his buddies this time and it was great. Just picture Macy Li in the middle of 7 big boys! Can anyone say, "princessa?!" She was a trooper. We drug her around with us everywhere, all day, and she had the best time. She, like her mommy, loves the sun, beach, pool, and all things beach-related! That's my girl! Anyway, it was 10 days spent in fellowship and laughter with the ones we love....Perfect!
