Much more than mere shoes...
Oh yeah, that's my girl! She loves her some shoes! This morning as she was having her diaper changed, she found these shoes on the counter and commenced to working for about 20 minutes to get them on OVER her footie-pajamas!
That's when I found myself pondering the miracle that she even has shoes now, that she has on warm fleece jammies (last winter she spent all of her days outside in the sunshine b/c it was warmer out there than inside her unheated orphanage), that she woke up today in the bed of a princess, surrounded by 3 brothers fighting over who would get to her first, that she has had bananas, and eggs, and cheese, and cheerios, and yogurt, and milk, and even 2 little chocolate Christmas bells for breakfast, that her mommy and daddy are completely smitten over the air she breathes, that she has extended family, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who delight over her, that she has antibiotics for the little cold she has, that she found joy singing "LaLaLaLa" for the one-millioneth time watching Elmo this morning, that she squeezed my neck with her sweet little arms and looked into my eyes with such love as I rocked and sang to her this morning, that this year will actually be her first Christmas and most of all, that she is celebrated over by her heavenly Father, the ONE who is the Author of Adoption!!
Her bed 4 months ago...
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
~Psalm 139:15-16

Love this post. It's so beautifully said - the contrasts of our girls' lives. Thanks for sharing that today.
Would those by any chance be squeaky shoes? We have a pair from GZ very much like those in our closet!
Merry Christmas.
Tears for your poignant words. I know He knows who our daughter is just as He knew your precious daughter was. What a comfort!
What a precious post Rhonda! I was brought to tears when I opened your Christmas Card this afternoon. Oh ... that photo! Your precious family shines brightly for all to see the Author of Adoption at work in the lives of His children when we trust & obey!
Love & Blessings,
Kim
